We know that you care about your personal information. This Privacy Statement ("Statement") describes the personal information we collect through our websites, mobile applications and services (collectively, the "Services"), and how we collect and use it. The terms "we""us", and "BeautySQ" refer to BeautySQ Inc., which operates the Services. This Privacy Policy is part of the Terms of Use, which governs your use of the Services and is located here.

1.    Information We Collect and How We Use it

Personal Data. While using our Services, we may ask you to provide us with certain personally identifiable information that can be used to contact or identify you (“Personal Data”). Personally identifiable information may include, but is not limited to:

  • Email address
  • First and last name
  • Phone number
  • Address, State, Province, ZIP/Postal code, City, Country
  • Cookies and Usage Data

We may use your Personal Data to contact you with newsletters, marketing or promotional materials and other information that may be of interest to you. You may opt out of receiving any, or all, of these communications from us by following the unsubscribe link or instructions provided on any email we send or by contacting us.

Account information. We ask for and store information about you when you create an account on the Services, such as your name and email address. You can also import your account information from a third party to make the BeautySQ registration process easier. We use your name to create your account name (first name and last initial). We use your email address to send you updates, provide services to you in connection with the Services, and to contact you on behalf of other users sending you messages, user follows, and the like. We may also use your signup location, birth date, and gender (if you supply them) to display relevant advertising to you. You can change your account information here or by accessing the User Account section of our Services.

Public content. You can contribute to the Services in a number of different ways, including writing reviews, uploading videos and photos, participating in talk threads, tagging products, filling out your public profile, and voting on other users' contributions. We may store these contributions (your "Public Content"), display them to other users, and use them for promotional purposes. Note that if you include personally identifiable information in your Public Content, it can be used and viewed by others. We are not responsible for the information you choose to include in your Public Content.

Messaging. The Services allows you to exchange messages with others using the messaging feature and email. We may store these messages in order to deliver them and allow you to manage them.

Inviting friends. You can invite your friends to join the Services by providing their contact information, or by entering your log-in credentials to import your address book from other sites. We may store and use your friends' contact information to invite them to join and connect with you on the Services. Your friends will always have the opportunity to opt-out of receiving further emails from us.

Third party services. We allow you to access third party services, such as Facebook and Twitter, to share your selected Public Content with those services, and import information about who you are connected with on those other services so you can connect with them on the Services. You can always opt out on your BeautySQ account page. Some of those third party services may also provide us with information from your accounts there to enhance and personalize your use of this Services. For example, you can allow Facebook to tell us who your Facebook friends are so you can follow their activity on BeautySQ. You can also further modify your privacy settings with those other services directly. For example, you can adjust your privacy setting on Facebook here to prevent your Facebook friends from sharing information about you from their Facebook accounts with BeautySQ.

Usage Data. We may also collect information how the Services are accessed and used. “Usage Data” is data collected automatically either generated by the user of the Services or from the Service infrastructure itself. This Usage Data may include information such as your computer’s Internet Protocol address (e.g. IP address), browser type, browser version, the pages of our Services that you visit, the time and date of your visit, the time spent on those pages, unique device identifiers and other diagnostic data.

We use this type of information to administer the Services and provide better service to you. We also use this information in the aggregate to perform statistical analyses of user behavior and characteristics in order to measure interest in and use of the various areas of the Services or to manage or improve the Services.

Cookies. We send cookies to your computer in order to uniquely identify your browser and improve the quality of our service. "Cookies" refer to small pieces of information that a websites sends to your computer's hard drive while you are viewing the Services. We may use both session cookies (which expire once you close your browser) and persistent cookies (which stay on your computer until you delete them). 2.    Use of Data

We use the collected data for various purposes, including:

  • To notify you about changes to our Services
  • To allow you to participate in interactive features of our Services when you choose to do so

  • To gather analysis or valuable information so that we can improve our Services
  • To monitor the usage of our Services
  • To detect, prevent and address technical issues

3.    Transfer of Information

Public Content. If you post content for public view on the Services, we may distribute such Public Content to a wider audience by sharing it (or portions of it) with third parties so that they can publish it on their own websites and media platforms. We may ask them to credit you as the source of these contributions by including your account name and profile photo.

Third party service providers. We may use third parties to provide technical and customer support, perform tracking and reporting functions, conduct quality assurance testing, perform payment processing and provide other services in connection with the Services. We may share information about you with them so that they can perform the services they are required to perform, but they are not permitted to use your personal information other than to provide the services requested by you.

Third party advertising. Third parties serve some of the ads on the Services. We do not send any individualized personal information to them, but they may have access to information that they obtain through cookies or that you share with them yourself. Note that we do not rent, share, sell or trade personally identifiable information with third parties for their direct marketing purposes.

Aggregate information. We may share non-personal information in the aggregate to third parties relating to user behavior in connection with actual or prospective business relationship with those third parties, such as advertisers and content distributors. For example, we may disclose the number of users that have been exposed to, or clicked on, advertising banners.

4.    Managing Your Information

We provide a number of tools to manage the use of your information on the Services. You may receive weekly newsletter communications from us. However, despite any requests to close your account or your indicated email preferences, we may still need to contact you as required by law or on legal matters, for example to inform you of any updates to our Terms of Service or this Statement.

5.    Retention of Data

We will retain your Personal Data only for as long as it is necessary for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy. We will retain and use your Personal Data to the extent necessary to comply with our legal obligations (for example, if we are required to retain your data to comply with applicable laws), resolve disputes, and enforce our legal agreements and policies.

We will also retain Usage Data for internal analysis purposes. 7.    Disclosure of Data

Business Transaction

If BeautySQ is involved in a merger, acquisition or asset sale, your Personal Data may be transferred. We will provide notice before your Personal Data is transferred and becomes subject to a different Privacy Policy.

Under certain circumstances, we may be required to disclose your Personal Data if required to do so by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities (e.g. a court or a government agency).

Behavioral Remarketing

BeautySQ, Inc. uses remarketing services to advertise on third party websites to you after you visited our Service. We and our third-party vendors use cookies to inform, optimize and serve ads based on your past visits to our Service.

  • Google AdWords. Google AdWords remarketing service is provided by Google Inc.

We may provide paid products and/or services within the Service. In that case, we use third-party services for payment processing (e.g. payment processors).

We will not store or collect your payment card details. That information is provided directly to our third-party payment processors whose use of your personal information is governed by their Privacy Policy. These payment processors adhere to the standards set by PCI-DSS as managed by the PCI Security Standards Council, which is a joint effort of brands like Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover. 9.    Our Policy Towards Children

The Services is intended for general audiences and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you become aware that your child has provided us with personal information without your consent, please contact us at privacy@BeautySQ.com. If we become aware that a child under 16 has provided us with personal information without parental consent, we take steps to remove such information and terminate the child's account.

10. Security

We follow generally accepted industry standards to protect the personal information submitted to us, both during transmission and once we receive it. No method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure, however. Therefore, while we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

11. "Do Not Track" Signals

We do not support Do Not Track ("DNT"). Do Not Track is a preference you can set in your web browser to inform websites that you do not want to be tracked.
